Lily Williams

[Ireland] (b 1874/d 1940)

She was well known for her portraits, particularly of the Irish Patriots of 1916. She was the designer of the Sinn Fein label, which since 1908, had been associated with the aims of the new Irish Government  ; President Arthur Griffith requested that her design be included in the new stamp issue.
