Debora Duyvis

[Netherlands] (b 1886/d 1974)



"Debora Duyvis Geertruida was born in Amsterdam on February 17, 1886(...) After primary school she attended a boarding school, first in Brussels and later in Bonn(..) She wanted to go to the National Academy of Fine Arts and secretly did before matriculation. (..)  In 1911 she was officialy admitted to the National Academy of Fine Arts and studied under Prof's. John Aarts and Antoon Derkinderen (..) who will continue to promote Debora's Work even after her specialization..." "She become known specially as a graphic artist and designer of book covers and bookplates..."
