Georg Alexander Mathéy

[Germany] (b 1884/d 1968)


Georg Alexander Mathéy was born on September 13, 1884 in Sibiu, Transylvania , of paternal Greek origin and also Greek Orthodox denomination. After attending high school in his native city, he studied architecture at the Technical University of Budapest, lived in Graz, studied at a business school in Berlin , worked as an actor and then studied again painting, book art and graphics at the State School of Applied Arts in Berlin ; from 1919 to 1928 he worked at the Leipzig State Academy of Graphic Arts and Printing..in addition to teaching he worked as an Illustrator for numerous books and magazines , activity that brought him fame...
