Edward Trojanowski

[Poland] (b 1873/d 1930)


Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg (1892-1897) ;left for Munich and then to Paris where he studied at the Julian Academy under the direction of JP Laurens. Since 1901 he become a member of the Society of Polish Artists "Art", and was also a co-founder of the Association "Polish Applied Art". In the years 1906-1920 he was professor of applied arts and in the years 1922-1930 of  decorative painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.  In 1929 he was awarded the Order "Polonia Restituta". He has exhibited in Leipzig, Vienna, London, and Paris .. Designed stained glass, furniture and fabrics based on Polish folk motifs and worked as a set designer, book graphic and  wall painter.
