[Romania] (b 1866/d 1933)
Arriving in Moldova's capital at adolescence, young Bassarab will take lessons in letters and sciences at Lasi, after completing secondary school. Then went to the School of Fine Arts in 1889 to attend classes for one year. Bassarab travels to Munich, where he scored the Polytechnic to study both design and architecture. After two years in the Bavarian capital, he decides to give up technical studies to devote himself exclusively to pictorial art ; a fact revealed by entering in a private school, and posterior admission to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
Bassarab will become one of the main sources of inspiration for the members of the Artistic Youth and his work in the universe of the Rural scene is well known and acclaimed..
