"Roubal studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts from 1906 to 1914 under Christian Griepenkerl (..) In 1913 he received the special school prize for a large animal painting.. (...) As a sculptor, Roubal created mainly animal sculptures , many reconstructions of prehistoric animals and also provided numerous illustrations for zoological works. (...) "
