Eugen Jordi

[Switzerland] (b 1894/d 1983)

Son of Friedrich Jordi, Typographer and founder of the Printing company 'Jordi' in Belp, Eugen soon entered in his fathers business ... in 1915 he initiated his Graphic Art studies in Munich returning after to Belp, where he start drawing on different printing techniques...he became a free lance artist in 1927 and moved to Kerrsatz where he designed the famous "Swiss Landscapes" stamps  in 1934...from 1941 to 1972 Eugen designed envelopes for "Berner Heimatbucher", being also a teacher in Bern from 1946 to 1961...During the 60's he dedicated himself mostly to painting, developing new styles that were emerging...
