Stefan Badzhov

[Bulgaria] (b 1883/d 1953)


Graduated from one of the most prestigious Art schools in Europe - UMPRUM in Prague, where he studied decorative Arts with the famous Prof. K. Mashek.
After graduating Stefan settled in Sofia - the capital of a free homeland Bulgaria and started his multiple and diverse activity. Magazine Illustration, Bank Notes, Stamps, Medals, Coats of Arms, interior decoration and above everything Restoration of Monuments, Palaces and Churches.. He was responsible for the Design of the Coat of Arms of Bulgaria , adopted in 1927..start's drawing his first stamp projects already in 1901 and in our days it is unthinkable to talk about Bulgarian stamps without  trespassing Stefan Badzhov's territory...
