Since the early days of his infancy , Domingos Rebelo show an unusual aptness to the art of Painting...In opposition to the difficult conditions and life on the Azores Islands , he manage to built economic support to travel to Paris to start his studies of Painting...attended the ' Académie de la Grande Chaumière' where he meets another Portuguese and Foreign Artists... After his return to the Azores, he continued to make regular exhibitions at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. During the decades of 20 and 30 his work was dedicated to the Azores costumes , traditions and way of living.. many short voyages were done during this period , resulting in several National and International Exhibitions and Prizes. In 1942 he settled definitely in Lisbon where a new period of his work started, with a much more varied thematic's.. His work is spread across palaces, monuments , churches and public buildings.
