Lu Tianjiao [1st Part (1955/1960) ]

"Lu was born in Shanghai in 1934. Lu enjoyed painting ever since she was a child with the influence of her art-loving father. She began to study in Hangzhou State Arts School (the predecessor of Zhejiang Academy of Arts) in 1950 and was transferred to the Central Academy of Arts in 1953.With the passion to devote her talent to the new China, Lu was assigned to work at the Stamp Division of the Ministry of the Post in 1954 and began a life-long career of stamp Designer. There were only three people involved in postage stamp design nationwide at the time. Lu, in her 20s, was the only female. (..) Her last work was on stamps to commemorate China's entering the World Trade Organization in 2003."
