Robert Geissmann

[USA] (b 1909/d 1976)


Robert Geissmann studied at the Department of Fine Arts of the Ohio state University...during WWII he worked on a joint project between the US Air Force and the Society of Illustrators...Geissmann was part of the first group of SI illustrators who covered Europe that also included Ray Prohaska and Michael Ramus.
He also contributed as an illustrator to several Magazines like 'Holiday' and the 'Coronet' Magazines...he was vice president of the Society of illustrators from 1952 to 1952 and President from 1953 to 1955 and his Artistic life earned him several awards from Private and Public Institutions...
