Rudolf Munger

[Switzerland] (b 1862/d 1929)


In 1879, Rudolf Munger started his Art studies at Neuchatel ; from 1883 to 1888 he attended the Munich Fine Arts School , the Paris  'Académie Julian' and the  'Ecole des Arts Decoratifs'. ...he returned to Bern where he became a teacher of the Commerce school and a Freelance Artist...in 1924 he received an honorary Degree of the Bern University...Munger became famous with his illustrations of the works by Jeremias Gotthelf  and Heidi , the famous Children Adventures by Johanna Spyri. He also painted  frescoes and made Fashion and Jewelry Designs...
