Juha Jarvelainen

[Finland] (b 1932/d 2015)


"Järveläinen began his art education at the age of sixteen under the leadership of Sam Vanni... he attended the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts between 1950 and 1954. After the  painting studies, he studied printmaking techniques at a studio course in 1959-60. (..) Järveläinen taught drawing and later painting at the Espoo Adult Education Centre. In 1967, he was elected to the Bank of Finland Security ...The work included postage stamps and coins, as well as the design of public Personalities portraits. (..) Since 1970, Järveläinen worked as a freelance artist making portraits, book illustrations and drawings. (...)"
