[Italy] (b 1892/d 1975)
Virgilio Retrosi started his education at the Royal Academy of fine Arts in Rome and as a teenager he was already active as a Ceramist... He made his first Exhibition in 1911 at the Rome International Exposition celebrating the Unification of Italy...side by side with his Ceramist activity he worked in 1912/1913 for the Magazine "La Casa" publishing several Articles and drawings .. during WWI he was Professor at the Rome Applied Arts School ,founded and directed by Duilio Cambellotti ...at the end of the War he was already collaborating with the main Ceramic Manufacturers...during the 20's , he took his Ceramist activity to the limit , always working hard and creating for several companies, and exhibiting in the Main Ceramic Fairs and Expositions...in the mid 30's he abandoned the Ceramic Activity, devoting himself to other Activities like the creation of posters and postcards, illustration, etc...
