[Cuba] (b 1905/d 1992)
Enrique Caravia started his first studies in 1911 in the Villate Foundation School and in 1918 he attended the Fine Arts National Academy San Alexandro, where he will earn the degree of professor of Drawing and Painting later in 1936.. Studying Commercial Drawing in the US was the next step , and brought him funds to travel to Europe in 1922 where he began his studies in the San Fernando School in Madrid... a year after he went to Rome to study on the Fine Arts and Engraving School ... before returning to Cuba he proceeded his engraving studies in Mexico. He was professor in several Havana Institutions and worked for some magazines as illustrator.. in 1951 and 1952 Caravia was chosen to represent the country in Exhibitions in the US and France and in 1954 he started to paint large format murals and working in the Restoration of old paintings property of the Cuban Church....during the 60's and 70's he made several large paintings for Cuban Museums ...
