Pieter Anne de Blieck

[Netherlands] (b 1891/d 1954)

Lieutenant Colonel P.A. Blieck was stationed at the London Bureau of the Dutch Ministry of Colonies...When Germany invaded Holland , Queen Wilhelmina and the Governmental Staff were for some time exiled in the British Capital... After the War, the recently promoted Colonel was left behind  to Administrate the Bureau , under strictly orders from the Dutch Embassy ..

Updated 28/06/2016 : 15:21  A viewer of the blog , Marco Swart , has provided valuable biographical data about the life of De Blieck... here it is :

"I stumbled upon this page, not expecting that Pieter Anne de Blieck also took a stint at designing stamps. Apart from his military career in the Dutch East Indies Army (KNIL), he was involved in creating an intelligence service over there and taking care of supplies after the liberation of Holland. After the war he became a businessman. I do not have a picture of him, but I can give you his main biographical data:
Born in Utrecht, August 25th 1891, died in Wassenaar, November 28th 1954.
He married twice:
1. Jurrjens, Susanna Wilhelmina Antoinetta
2. Herfst, Wilhelmine Alberta
According to his granddaughter he had six children and a mistress in Paris. "

[ As You noticed , there is no biographical data about the Artist, and I only know that he was a military...I will try to access some more information about him in the Genealogical Sites ( even if that requires monetary expenses .. in my current Unemployment condition, that is something I do not wish...]
