Ion Dumitrana [ 1st Part (Romania 1948/1953) ]

[Romania] (b 1923/d 1976)

Postage stamp Designer and Illustrator, Ion Dumitrana started to work at the age of 14 as a simple worker in a Stamp Factory.. He attended the Fine Arts Academy and after graduating he started to have lessons with the Engraver Simion Iuca and made several specialization in Poland , Hungary and France , where he received special encouragement by the Master Engraver Jules Piel.. He worked for the Romanian Postal Office , but also for several African countries and for the satellite states of the United Arab Emirates , in the 60's and 70's..
