András Biczó

[Hungary] (b 1888/d 1957)

András Biczó studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, where his masters were  Laszlo Hegedus and Imre Revesz. He painted Historical works, landscapes and genre paintings and the Watercolors were his preferred way of expression  . In 1925 he presented his works in a group exhibition in the capital, Budapest.  He created greeting cards and children's books illustrations, many of them during the 1920-1940 period, covers and posters..He often designed folksy, Hungarian style compositions, following the atmosphere of the age. It is a great idea to employ a humorous and lovely figure in the poster, and Biczó could do it in a perfect manner.
