Vittorio Grassi

[Italy] (b 1878/d 1958)


Vittorio  Grassi was an Italian Painter, illustrator and Decorator.. worked at the 'Officina carte e valori della Banca d'Italia" where he searched for Typographical means to stop Bank note falsification.. in his free time he continued to pursue his real vocation as a painter...it is the time of his first exhibitions in Rome that largely contributed to rapidly increase his Artistic reputation..he started to work also as illustrator for several Magazines and giving the first steps into the Interior Decoration of  houses and buildings... from 1900 on , he begin to spent some time as scenarist for plays as Macbeth from Verdi and others... also worked with ceramics and as a Professor in the Rome Fine Arts Academy and in the Superior School of Architecture...
