Pierre Marie Alfred Montader  was a painter and also made numerous Book illustrations [ we can highlight the 'Le Babylone Électrique' (1888) and 'L'Auvergne' (1896)]... (...) his interest for Philately dated from the first days of his Magazine 'Le Postillon' , that will be edited only in 1901...the subject of the magazine are all those falsifications, errors, and other day to day issues of Philatelic origin...Alfred Montader will became a legend in French Philately because of the duration of his Magazine that has survived the WWI and reached the emblematic mark of the 25 years of existence...the last number of the Magazine corresponded to the death of it's creator and editor...
