Mohammed Racim

[Algeria] (b 1896/d 1975)


Born in Algiers in 1896 in a family of Artists , Racim's gift for drawing was noticed since infant days...after a passage through the Algiers Fine Arts School , his Mastery in Manuscript Illumination Technics opened him new perspectives.. He went to Paris where he worked in the Manuscript Department of the National Library  , and also traveled to Spain and England... His works are exhibited through out the world... From the Independence on , Racim , specialist in Arab Calligraphy ,is the Founding member of the Miniature Algerian School..
