"E:L: Lawrenson began his Artistic Education in 1881, but had pursued his Artistic Studies in Dublin for only a few months when he went into the Army.. It was not until 1900, when he left his Regiment (1st Connaught Rangers) , that he went to Paris to study Painting.. Several years after, he start doing Color prints and obtained a Gold Medal at Milan in 1906. At that time , Fine color Prints were not in favor , and he did not receive much encouragement . During latter years, , however, the Art of Color Printings has grown in Popularity and many of his prints are in Museums on the Continent and America , as well as the British Museum ."
