Pawel Merwart

[Poland][France] (b 1855/1902)

His father was a Frenchman living in Poland, his mother a Pole. He spent his youth in Poland, then traveled around Europe studying Art ...He then settled in France, where he worked for the Naval Ministry, at the Colonies Department. Thus he traveled further around the world, and many of his paintings have exotic themes related to French Colonies.
