Dimitar Gyudzhenov

[Bulgaria] (b 1891/d 1979)

 graduated painting in the Industrial School of Arts (now the National Art Academy ) in Sofia in 1915, while studying two semesters in Paris National School of Fine Arts (1913-14). Began to paint as a war artist in the headquarters of the Eighth Infantry Division Tundzha . Between 1920 and 1933 Dimitar Gyudzhenov taught at the Academy and in 1925 painted his first paintings on historical themes ; he also worked in the fields of  landscape and portrait . From 1933 to 1945, he worked as a painter at the headquarters of the Bulgarian army , which inspired a whole series of paintings of military and historical subjects and personalities. 
Member and co-founder of the Association of South Bulgarian Artists (1911) and the company "Modern Art" . From 1931 to 1941 he was President of the Society of Artists in Bulgaria.  Awarded with many National Prizes and Honors.
