Johannes Troyer

[Austria] (b 1902/d 1969)


"Johannes Troyer was an Austrian Illustrator, Graphic and Commercial Artist and Sculptor..from 1916 to 1918 he studied at the Innsbruck School... he later attended the Munich Academy and finally settled in Innsbruck as Graphic Designer , painter and resident Sculptor..(..) In July 1938, he emigrated to Liechtenstein, where he designed frescoes and stamps. In 1947 he received the first prize in the Swiss poster competition Olma. In 1949 he went to the USA (New Rochelle / New York), where he worked as a book designer and illustrator for more than 50 American publishers. In 1962 Troyer returned to Innsbruck."
