Gian Battista Conti

"(..) Giambattista Conti was an Italian painter whose works of art are more extensively present in the Maltese islands than anywhere else. Nevertheless he is counted as a locally significant 20th cent. artist of extensive talents who has ably perused various media, though mostly fresco and oil, and produced paintings, graphic designs, mosaics and even stained glass windows that decorate various churches in Italy, Spain and Malta. His Roman studio was a hub of apprentices and upcoming St George’s basilica in Gozo is his showcase. (..)"
