Pierre-Eugene Vibert

[Switzerland] (b 1875/d 1937)


Pierre-Eugene Vibert was a Swiss Painter, Illustrator, Designer and Engraver. After three Years of Drawing Studies , at the age of 17 he went to Paris, where the first  times were not easy.. wood engraving work for some 'cheap editions' were at that time the only perspective of income .. time has come when he need to accept  works that together with free time for his paintings , assure him a certain income stability.. Engravings for Fashion catalogs gave him six months of hard work for year and the possibility of dedicate many of his time to his Artistic life...in 1898 he exhibited for the first time at the National Society of Fine Arts in Paris and in 1903 was one of the founders of the "Salon D'Automne" , where he also exhibited..in 1914 he was nominated Professor at the Geneva School of Fine Arts..
