"Pentti Rahikainen is a Finish Illustrator.. He graduated from the Helsinki Applied Arts College in 1953.. Since 1960 he has been awarded with several International Stamp Design prizes.. His special areas of expertise are securities, banknotes, stock certificates, checks and stamps "

Edmund John

[Poland] (b 1894/d 1989)

"Edmund John began his studies in the Architecture Department at the Warsaw Polytechnical Institute and continued at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Besides being interested in graphics and applied art, he was also a painter and poster designer, beginning the latter in 1918. John participated in the following national poster exhibitions: "Art of Warsaw from the Middle Ages to the Mid-Twentieth Century," held in Warsaw in 1962; "From Young Poland to the Present," held in Warsaw in 1966. He also participated in international exhibitions, one in Paris in 1925, where he was awarded a silver medal for his poster "Powszechna Wystawa Krajowa w Poznaniu" [The General National Exhibition in Poznan], and another in Paris in 1937. John was a member of the Graphic Artists Advertising Circle (KAGR). "  it appears that  Edmund John also designed some Banknotes,and medals..

Herman Frederik Carel ten Kate

[Netherlands] (b 1822/d 1891)


"Herman ten Kate the Elder  was a student of Cornelis Kruseman from 1837 and 1841. After his education he traveled to Belgium, Germany, Italy and France. In Paris, Jean-Louis Ernest Meissonier advised him on his painting and on his return from his travels, he studied in the Municipal Academy (1842) and at the Royal Academy of Art (1841–42). (..) During wartime, there was a decline in the sale of his military themed art work so he shifted his emphasis to landscape paintings. (..) He was director of the Arts Academy during the 60's decade..."

Paul Daxhelet studied at the Liege Fine Arts Academy. during the 30's his work was mainly focused in the sport Activity..After the WWII his Art was devoted to the description of his many voyages through out the world , Belgium and France African Colonies, the Orient and South America...in his work color and movement are always predominant..
