Aart van Dobbenburgh

Edouard Vallet

[Switzerland] (b 1876/d 1929)


Édouard Vallet was a painter, illustrator and Graphic Artist born in Geneva.  He attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Barthélemy Menn, taking lessons from Pierre Pignolat and Barthélemy Bodmer. After his studies in Savoy , Édouard  traveled extensively through  Germany and Italy . He opened a studio in Grand-Saconnex near Geneva ; Édouard  Vallet painted mostly landscapes and figurative scenes from the Valais Alps.

Axel Torneman

[Sweden] (b 1880/d 1925)


Johan Axel Gustaf Törneman (28 October 1880 – 26 December 1925) was one of Sweden's earliest modernist painters.. (..) Törneman gained international stature in 1905 in the Salon d'Automne in Paris  in 1901 and 1906.  Törneman also painted murals and decorations in public buildings.

Alexander Moravov

[Russia] (b 1878/d 1951)

"Alexander Moravov born in the Ukraine, and his initial Art Education was received in a private School in Kiev. In 1897 he entered the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, and graduated in 1901. (..) In pre-revolutionary years , he established himself as an Artist and after the October Revolution, Moravov made a series of paintings on the revolutionary Social Issues, many of which have become classics of Soviet Art. (..) His paintings were exhibited Nationaly and Internationaly and they are now eagerly purchased by Museums. Moravov always believed that Art, even in it's higher forms should be available to all..(..)"
