Since the early days of his infancy , Domingos Rebelo show an unusual aptness to the art of Painting...In opposition to the difficult conditions and life on the Azores Islands , he manage to built economic support to travel to Paris to start his studies of Painting...attended the ' Académie de la Grande Chaumière' where he meets another Portuguese and Foreign Artists... After his return to the Azores, he continued  to make regular exhibitions at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. During the decades of 20 and 30 his work was dedicated to the Azores costumes , traditions and way of living.. many short voyages were done during this period , resulting in several National and International Exhibitions and Prizes. In 1942 he settled definitely in Lisbon where a new period of his work started, with a much more varied thematic's.. His work is spread across palaces, monuments , churches and public buildings.
From 1947 to 1970 was director of the Fine Arts Society ...

Alvaro Duarte de Almeida

[Portugal] (b 1909/d 1972)

Studied Painting at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts and distinguished himself as designer of Bullfighting motifs and Children's Literature Illustration.

Nominated Professor of  Design of the Fine Arts Society in 1941.. Worked for many Magazines : "Seda Y Oro (Sevilla)","Ilustração","Magazine Bertrand","Domingo Ilustrado","Seculo Ilustrado", "Grande enciclopédia Portuguesa e Brasileira", etc..

Was awarded with several Prizes along his career..

João Araújo

[Portugal] (b 1929)

Studied Architecture, Sculpture and Painting at the Antonio Arroio School of Art  and at the Lisbon Superior School of Fine Arts, .. During his time as  professor ,he was distinguished with the Roque Gameiro 1st Prize... Engraving was also one of his specialties ( His father , Renato Araújo, was also a renown Engraver..) and received a Prize of the Fine Arts National Society..worked for some time in the Bank of Portugal  and was the engraver of  13 Bank Notes.. 

Among the huge diversity that marked his Work , Religious themes were always his favorites with many works as Architect , stained glass , painter , etc

[ in this field we can mention the Santa Maria Goretti Chapel in the Encarnação Church in Lisbon (1954) , several works to the Fatima Basilica (until 1967..) , stained glass for the Nampula Cathedral (Mozambique) (1968 / 1997) , and others..]

In 1976 one of his religious paintings showing Christ in the Cross was chosen to the Pope's Collection...

A period of great success followed , and many exhibitions have taken place.. his Artistic Work has been distinguished trough all the world .
