Roque Gameiro

[Portugal] (b 1864/d 1935)



Roque Gameiro was a great Portuguese painter specialized in watercolors..
Studied in the Academy of Fine Arts of Lisbon and also attended the School of Arts and Crafts in Leipzig, where he studied lithography. In 1894 was nominated professor at the Industrial College of Principe Real..During his life he colaborated in several magazines : "A comédia Portuguesa", "Branco e Negro", "Brasil-Portugal" and "Atlântida" ...
Roque Gameiro was responsible , together with Manuel de Macedo for the illustration of the Great illustrated Edition of the "Lusiadas" of Camões.

Antonio Lino

[Portugal] (b 1914/d 1996)




In Italy he studied the technique of etching, stained glass and mosaic -. Branch's  of Art to which he devoted himself. Obtained the Premium Luciano Freire in design, of the National Academy of Fine Arts in 1945. We can find his works in many public buildings such as palaces, courts, churches, Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Museum Machado de Castro. He wrote several books.

Manuel Lapa

[Portugal] (b 1914/d 1979)

 Graduated at the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon . In 1940 joins the team of artists of the Portuguese World Exhibition ; Collaborates on Panorama (Portuguese art magazine and tourism) ; assume the artistic direction of the magazine Atlantic (1942). Participates in the 'I Exhibition of Modern Illustrator's Artists , SPN , (Porto, 1942); 
In 1948 he is part of the team of artists-decorators of the Museum of Popular Art ..  In 1953, directs the illustration and publication of the work Olisipo Guide: Roadmap of Lisbon . In 1969 along with António Quadros (1923-1993), Lima de Freitas (1927-1998) and Manuel Martins Costa (1922-1996) was one of the core founders of the Institute of Art, Design and Decoration (IADE), Lisbon.  
Awarded with many Official State distinctions and Prizes...
